Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what data is collected when you use No1’s Portfolio (”this publication”) and how it is handled. The short answer: as little as possible, and I don’t sell it.

What I collect

Very little directly. This publication runs on Substack, which means most data collection is handled by Substack’s platform. When you subscribe (free or paid), Substack collects your email address and, for paid subscribers, your payment information through Stripe.

I do not separately collect, store, or process your personal data outside of what Substack and Stripe handle on my behalf.

What Substack and Stripe collect

Substack and Stripe are independent platforms with their own privacy policies. They may collect:

• Your email address

• Your name (if provided)

• Payment and billing information (for paid subscribers, processed by Stripe)

• IP address and browser information

• Usage data (which posts you open, when, etc.)

I do not have access to your full payment details. Stripe handles payment processing and I only see that a subscription is active, not your card number or bank details.

How I use your information

Your email address is used to deliver the publication to you. That’s it. I will not:

• Sell your email address or personal data to anyone

• Share my subscriber list with third parties

• Send you marketing emails unrelated to this publication

• Use your data for advertising purposes

If you contact me directly at no1@troyridge.com, I will use your email to respond to you. I won’t add you to any list or share your message with anyone else.

Cookies and tracking

I don’t set any cookies myself. Substack’s platform uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality and analytics. Refer to Substack’s privacy policy and cookie policy for details.

Data retention

Your subscription data is retained by Substack for as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, Substack handles the removal of your data according to their policies. I don’t maintain a separate database of subscriber information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or export it. Since subscriber data is held by Substack, most of these requests should be directed to Substack through their platform.

If you have a question about any data I might hold directly (for example, from an email exchange), contact me at no1@troyridge.com and I’ll address it promptly.

For subscribers in the European Economic Area, the UK, or other jurisdictions with specific data protection laws: your data is processed by Substack (based in the United States) and Stripe (based in the United States). By subscribing, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
